Montana's Furry Creatures

We live in a log cabin nestled on a mountain with woods all around. Wildlife is everywhere. Every day, deer wander past our windows and their grazing habits fascinate us. This is a picture of Puff watching a mother deer forage for food outside a bedroom window.

In the Winter when food is scarce, mom puts a "deer lick" near the trees to give the deer some food and vitamins. Sometimes as many as ten or more deer line up to take a turn at the deer lick. We love watching all the other animals.

We have seen all kinds of new creatures. From elk and buffalo to pheasants and eagles, Montana is like visiting a huge zoo. Near our home are wilderness areas that provide a home to moose, bears great horned sheep and all kinds of interesting animals.

We have also seen fascinating flying creatures like bald eagles and ospreys. If you ever get a chance, you should visit Montana. Talk about a place that is different from Texas, wait until you see our new house...
